Coffee, tea or juice. What’s your go to morning beverage.

Am not so sure how many people wake up and have tea in the morning but am starting to feel like I am the only one. I’ve always wondered whether the British always take tea at noon but that’s something I don’t have the privilege of finding out. Not just because a ticket to London would render me into a life debt but I’d probably not fit into any community out there. Now there are multiple types of tea but essentially the concept behind tea is the same everywhere. Hot water and leaves, no one has ever made tea sound so boring and weird till I said that. Multiple types of tea exist and they are all made from Camellia sinensis plant. Though all of them taste different, this is because they all have a different preparation process from being less or more oxidised to fermentation and even use of young buds of the Camellia sinensis plant. There’s no denying the satisfactory taste that tea has but this is only for tea enthusiasts and not everyone.

Types of tea

  • Black tea-Fully oxidized, has bold flavor and dark color.
  • Green tea-Minimally oxidized, its fresh, has grassy flavor and potential health benefits.
  • White tea-Made from young tea buds and leaves, minimally processed, has a delicate flavor.
  • Oolong tea-Partially oxidized, offers a wide range of flavors that is dependant on the level of oxidation.
  • Pu-erh tea-Fermented tea, with earthy and aged flavors.

When it comes to the benefits of teas, yes, tea has benefits and I don’t know how that’s possible. But this is probably going to get all you coffee addicts on a cup of tea the next time you’re looking for something hot. Tea tends to have multiple studies benefits but I’ll only put down those I believe because some of the benefits are more mind-blowing than most medicines out there. Tea has antioxidants which detox your body, aid digestion and even help manage stress.

Though just like everything that is highly praised, tea has its downside though this only applies when you consume too much of it. The side effects are connected to tea having caffeine and tannin. Some side effects include poor sleep, reduced iron absorption, nausea and many more.

Unlike tea,Coffee is more broad when it comes to the types of coffee beverages. Coffee bean trees are where all those different types of coffee beverages come from, there are 4 types of coffee bean trees though Arabica and robusta coffee are generally more popular than the other two. They are not so known by many but Liberica Offers a distinct smoky and floral flavor profile while Excelsa: A tart and fruity coffee with a lighter body.

Personally I would not be an everyday coffee guy, not going to lie but I understand Where you’d be coming from if you take this everyday. Apart from ruining my sleep with all that caffeine I wouldn’t want to get too hooked because I know it’s addictive not in a drug’s kind of way. Though I’ve taken coffee a few times at night and actually slept so I don’t know whether this caffeine thing is real but we won’t argue with science.

A cup of coffee is a good one to start the day because of its too main perks to the body, you’ll  attain a bit of increased energy and focus due to caffeine’s stimulating effects. Though researchers have also found out that it can help prevent and improve conditions of certain diseases like Parkinson’s, Type 2 diabetes, and liver cancer, how likely are we to believe this? For me I wouldn’t, I’d encourage you to live a more healthy lifestyle to avoid sickness instead of betting your odds of a cup or two of coffee every morning.

Coffee has a vast variety of beverages ranging from bitter to very sweet. Sugar bomb coffee beverages like frappuccinos and some flavored lattes, I wouldn’t advise more than a cup of these in a week because some tend to contain more sugar than even a can of soda. Just remembered one thing, too much caffeine is a no go and the same goes for sugar. These tend to stress out your body to either regulate sugars or push your body past its exhaustion point. That’s why you need to carefully watch what coffee beverages you take and how many times you consume them.

Juice might be the holy grail of this section right? What can be dangerous about something so sweet and yet so natural. Well that’s if we are talking about real juice from fruits and not some crazy concoction in a food factory that has thousands of things mixed together to try and imitate juice. Though taking excessive amounts of juice is really bad though, it causes weight gain because of much sugars, type 2 diabetes, tooth decay because bacteria thrive in the sugars and potential harm in livers and kidneys. While dangerous like everything that’s taken in excess, juice has multiple benefits like increased intake of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which can boost immunity, improving skin health, and potentially lower the risk of chronic diseases.

Juice is a good option over tea and coffee in case you’re into cool or cold drinks in the morning. They also tend to be best suited for kids instead of tea and coffee. It’s also a good choice to try and tell everyone you’re on a juice cleanse in case you want to turn a few heads. Ideally everyone has a morning beverage they prefer and we should be all happy with whatever we choose.
